OFFICER POSITONS AVAILABLE:  There have been some position changes in the ranks of the officers.  Some new officers will be sworn in at the Sept. Club meeting. Please come out and meet your new officers. Still needed is the Bow Hunting Vice President. This is a very important position within the club. If you are interested in filling this position, please contact an officer ASAP.

JAMBOREE TIME: That’s right, we are getting close to Jamboree Time:  September 13th – 14th. Tentatively, we are looking at setting up a 3D course totally geared for hunting. The goal here is to get ready for the October bow season.  This will be a practice shoot only.  There will be some door prizes and during the course of the Jamboree there will be a hunting swap meet similar to the one we held in the spring. No firearms allowed. This will be open to anyone. Items such as arrows, bows, broad heads and camo gear are allowed. We should have a great time and this will be your last chance to get some shots in before opening day.  We will post a schedule at the club and on the website soon.

BROAD HEAD MATS: We are going to be getting out some new broad head mats for the tree stand and for a broad head course. Stay tuned for more info on the course.  Sharpen up those blades; opening day will be here before you know it.

CONGRATS: Congratulations goes out to Bertha Brugh, James Clippard and Roy Forehand for winning medals in the Commonwealth Games.  Great work guys!

FUNDS: We are doing very well financially for this time of year. The club performed very well this year at all of our shoots and club events. 2008 is shaping up to finish as one of the best on the books. Please pay your dues for the upcoming year ASAP.  This provides you with uninterrupted access to the club through hunting season and helps the club maintain funds during a slow period at the club.

HUNTING: Just a reminder: if you plan on hunting at Sherwood, you must be beyond the power lines. Also remember, there is no baiting allowed or hunting over a baited area. Be mindful of other members hunting there as well.
